The Health Portal Preview
The integration of safety and healthcare management has arrived.
The Health Portal
The Health Portal is at the heart of the new features. Employee information is synchronized between the systems which allows the Portal to be a single point of access for clinic-related activity (making appointments online, completing forms before an office visit, viewing medical records) and safety-related activity (taking required training, reporting workplace hazards, viewing diplomas or certifications). A complete integration of all products facilitates collaboration between health and safety professionals by reducing duplicate data entry of employee and injury (case) information.
The Portal Home Page is the starting point for all employees. Employees see appropriate information in a consistent, easily-navigated home page. You can seamlessly increase or decrease user permissions and implement different integration components over time with little to no employee training.

Security. Employees are required to maintain a strong portal password as part of an overall security structure that includes encrypted databases and complete auditing of PHI (protected health information).
The Health Portal for OHM SaaS Customers: Online Appointments, Consent Forms, Medical Records, and more
OHM SaaS customers can license the Health Portal as an add-on to OHM. Clinics save time and phone calls when employees can manage their own appointments from a clinic-defined selection of appointment types and times. You can also include consent forms and questionnaires so employees can complete them online before their appointment. Employees can also review their own medical record or office visits without calling the clinic.
Steps for basic tasks are described in a tour of the Portal that can be viewed as needed. New employees or employees who infrequently use the portal find this particularly helpful. OHM administrators log in to OHM to configure the appointments, create consent forms and questionnaires, and set special portal permissions that control what an employee sees when logged into the portal.

Managing Work-Related Injuries with OHM (SaaS) and the Incident Management System (IMS)
The value of linking health and safety information is apparent when an injury triggers various documentation events. OHM handles the medical management of an injury in the Case Management module. IMS creates injury records and stores injury data, some of which overlaps with OHM case data. IMS also collects information that is used to understand and report on injuries from a safety perspective. Integrating these two products allows common fields of data to be updated in the other system such OSHA-required information including lost work days, restricted work days, and various other aspects of the injury.
The Health Portal becomes the employee's primary view of everything without regard to the application from which it originates. Employees can see everything from healthcare appointments to safety training assignments. Employees are given a tool that makes it easy to report workplace hazards or injuries. The information is seamlessly received by appropriate managers who can follow up and track the entire process through resolution.
Behind the scenes, an OHM case is automatically created when an IMS supervisor creates an IMS injury record, preparing the way for medical case management by healthcare staff. Conversely, an IMS supervisor report and injury record is automatically created when an OHM case is added, notifying the safety manager that an employee was treated for a work-related injury. The link created between the OHM case and the IMS injury record allows for easy updating and viewing of information on both systems, provided appropriate permissions are given by each system.
Adding or modifying an employee record in one system automatically updates relevant demographic fields for the same employee the other system. Each system maintains its own database, security, and all other aspects of normal operation.
Some PureSafety employees, such as administrators, may have permission to use the OHM application. A single sign-on means these employees can open OHM without logging in separately, provided security permissions allow such access. Similarly, OHM users who are logged into OHM can open their own Health Portal page directly from OHM without logging in separately
PureSafety imports are not available after integration and all importing must occur from OHM. However, the integration handles the synchronization between systems when an employee record is deleted, merged, archived, or unarchived.
